7 Days flying safari to one of the best hidden and less visited parks than the national parks in the north. The park is untouched and has authentic remote wilderness areas, thus providing a sense of African adventure unmatched anywhere else on the continent.
Nyerere National Park is a newly established park that is part of what is known as Selous Game Reserve; founded in 2019 and covers over 30,000 square kilometres; now the largest National Park in Africa. The park boasts Tanzania’s largest elephant population and many lions, leopards, African hunting dogs, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas, giraffes and zebras. In addition, the park has the most extensive diversity of safari activities, from boat safari along the Great Rufiji River to fishing and walking and classic game driving in thriving wildlife areas.
Ruaha National Park is the second-largest park in Tanzania and covers an area of about 22,000 km². It is one of the few of Tanzania’s famous wilderness areas, whereby the experience of game viewing is spiced up by the exciting landscape and its Great Ruaha River. The park has a high concentration of elephants, and magnificent mammals like greater and lesser kudus, sable and roan antelopes can easily be spotted in miombo woodland. The park is also a habitat for endangered wild dogs, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, elands, impalas, bat-eared foxes and jackals.

This morning, you will start your safari in Dar es Salaam or for your light aircraft flight to the Selous, one of Africa’s most significant game reserves. On Arrival at Selous Game Reserve Mtemere Airstrip, you will be met by the driver guide, briefing information and drive you back to the camp.
Relax and immerse in your new surroundings before enjoying a delicious, fresh lunch in a beautiful shady spot your camp offers. There is time to relax for a few hours after lunch before departing on an afternoon boat safari. The boat safari is superb in the afternoon, watching wildlife come to the water’s edge to drink and getting close to bird colonies, hippos, crocodiles and the spectacular sundown.

Your days on safari offer plenty of flexibility, with a range of safari activities to choose from each morning and afternoon. Game drives are the best way to travel further afield and see some more giant game, including the predators – the Selous is home to the largest population of wild dogs in Africa, which are a real highlight if you are lucky enough to encounter a pack.
Guided bush walks are entirely different here, sightseeing the miombo woodland environment with your guide. The walking safari is an exciting opportunity to get close to the animals and the best way to learn the intricacies of the African bush. Walking along the firmed trail through the African bushes is entirely different from game drives; being on foot brings about a new way of appreciating the natural environment.
Full-day game drives with picnic lunches or a relaxed lunch in camp with an afternoon game drive. Before the end of the day, you will return to the camp and spend the time relaxing in the swimming pool, having evening dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart with your guide to the Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Msembe Airstrip in Ruaha National Park. On arrival at Msembe Airstrip, you will be met by a driver-guide. Before heading on a game drive en route to the lodge, a brief introduction to the surrounding area. Once at the lodge, you will have the opportunity to relax and familiarise yourself.
In the afternoon, you can head out on an afternoon game drive in an open safari vehicle. Then, as evening approaches, it’s time to return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Depending on your favourite, there are a couple of options regarding how your day is planned. Guided bush walks are a great way to start the day, wake up early in the morning and discover the environment on equal footing as the wildlife. Walking along the firmed trail through the African bushes differs from game drives.
Deliciously morning breakfast and a full day of game drives with picnic lunches. Regardless of sharing vehicles on a Game Package basis, the lodge will do everything to meet your ideal structure.
Ruaha is the second-largest park and the second-largest elephant sanctuary in Tanzania. The park’s animals include greater and lesser kudus, cheetahs, lions, roan and sable antelopes. As a result, Ruaha is an ideal place for spotting wilderness and scenic beauty.

After breakfast, pack your bags and say farewell as you depart for Msembe Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar Airport. Wave goodbye to Ruaha and enjoy an en-route game drive to the Airstrip.
